WASHINGTON – Rental furniture company Feather is now offering its service to customers in the Washington D.C. metro area as well as in Baltimore, Md., and Richmond, Va.

“We knew 2021 would be a year of expansion for us, so we listened to our community and chose the D.C. area since its vibrancy and transience extends itself clearly to the service we provide,” said Jay Reno, CEO and founder of Feather.

The company said that residents in more than 800 ZIP codes now have access to Feather’s assortment of more than 200 pieces of furniture, art and rugs.

Feather also provides a range of curated apartment packages. Reno said the curated assortments are designed to alleviate the burden of furniture selection, especially when it comes to furnishing an entire place at one time. The curated packages start at $97 per month.

Data from Feather showed that during the pandemic it has seen a 400% increase in demand for home office items and a 260% increase in demand for sofas, chairs and beds.

Feather’s furniture and home decor line was designed to be refurbished, repaired and redeployed, according to Reno. The company is passionate about keeping furniture in homes and out of landfills, and it is proud to continually offset the carbon emissions of its domestic operations, he said.

In addition to the newly added service areas, Feather serves customers in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Orange County, Calif.
