Showtime fabric fair may rethink 2021 dates

High Point, N.C. – With High Point Market pushing its April show into June, Showtime is surveying its community about its own dates.

In an email, show organization International Textile Alliance (ITA) reached out to members and buyers about whether its spring event should also shift in timing.

The spring Showtime event is currently scheduled for May 23-26. ITA is asking its constituents whether the dates should be moved to run concurrently with the rescheduled High Point Premarket event, now slated for April 25-28.

IMC reschedules 2021 Las Vegas Markets

LAS VEGAS – International Market Centers has pushed back dates for next year’s Las Vegas Markets due to a shift timing for High Point Market, as well as ongoing travel and government restrictions in the western United States.

Originally planned in January and July,  Las Vegas Market’s 2021 dates have been pushed back to April 11-15 and August 22-26, respectively. IMC’s 2021 markets in Atlanta for Gift & Home and Apparel will run as scheduled.

“We have opted to postpone the winter Las Vegas Market in connection with Governor Sisolak’s recent extension of Nevada’s ‘statewide pause’ and in consideration of stay-at-home orders currently impacting travel for key western states,” said Bob Maricich, IMC CEO, in a release. “HPMA’s decision to change High Point Market from April to June further affirms our decision and allows us to shift the winter Las Vegas Market into April. We also will alter our summer Las Vegas Market dates from July to August to allow enough time between the April Las Vegas Market, new June High Point Market dates and our summer market in Las Vegas. Our Las Vegas showrooms including the Las Vegas Design Center remain open for business by appointment for buyers.”

IMC realigns brand marketing team

ATLANTA / LAS VEGAS / HIGH POINT — International Market Centers has realigned its brand marketing team, adding new and expanded responsibilities for two senior staff members.

Sarah Mount has been promoted to vice president of digital marketing within IMC’s Digital Innovations division, IMC_di. In her new role, she will promote Juniper, a full suite of B2B digital sales and marketing solutions.

Renee Loper-Boyd, who has been the vice president of marketing for IMC’s gift and home markets in High Point and Las Vegas since 2015, has been promoted and assumes additional responsibilities for the company’s gift and home markets in Atlanta and Open Year Round activities at AmericasMart Atlanta.

In line with this, Eleanor Hunt is being promoted to director of marketing and Sarah Ziegler to marketing manager for the Atlanta gift and home brand team. Additionally, Julia Roach will be promoted to senior marketing manager and will oversee all categories for Las Vegas Market. LG Sourcing recalls 48,000 electric fireplaces

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – LG Sourcing has recalled about 48,000 electric fireplaces due to a potential fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Wednesday.

The CPCS said that wiring connectors in the fireplace can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The agency said the company has received 28 reports of overheating, smoke and fire associated with the units, with several instances of smoke damage reported to the surrounding area and one instance of smoke inhalation.

The recall involves the Allen + Roth brand, 62-inch-wide, 5,120-BTU infrared quartz fireplaces with item number 4666656. The cabinet of the units has a wood cherry finish, and the units feature a thermostat and remote control. An insert in the cabinet simulates a wood-burning fireplace, providing heat. FEBO Flame Electric Fireplace Model Number ZHS-30-A is printed on a white label on the back of the unit.
