Glen Raven purchases production facility in France

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Glen Raven Custom Fabrics has purchased a new production facility in Valenciennes, France, an industrial hub city with easy access to transportation routes across Europe.

“Glen Raven is a 140-year-old company, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to serving our customers and investing in our collective business not just for today, but for the many years ahead,” said Dave Swers, president of Glen Raven Custom Fabrics.

“While the path forward is not linear,” he continued, “we recognized the need to pull forward some of our expansion plans so that we can provide the level of service our customers deserve and continue to satisfy end users’ desires for Sunbrella fabrics. We are committed to meeting the needs of our customers through creative sourcing, extended run schedules, enhanced systems and capacity expansions.”

Once converted to meet Glen Raven’s requirements, the facility in France is expected to be operational by the second half of next year. The site also allows for future production and distribution expansion.

Kuzco keeping showroom closed for January

In a letter to its customers, lighting manufacturer Kuzco Group announced that showrooms for its Kuzco and Alora brands will not be open for January’s Lightovation show.

The letter, written by Kuzco Group President Nathan Yang, noted that rising COVID-19 cases nationwide prompted the decision to keep the showroom closed. The body of the letter follows:

This year has proven to be Kuzco’s most challenging year on many fronts, but with your trusted partnership we have had a record-breaking year! Despite all the obstacles in our way, your support and dedication has been overwhelming and we can’t thank you enough for your part in making 2020 a great year.

“We continue to place the utmost importance on the health and safety of our staff and customers. The COVID-19 Pandemic has made us all look at what we can do to keep the ones we hold dear safe. As cases continue to rise across the country to new record highs, and to ensure we are not placing anyone in danger for non-essential reasons, we feel we have no choice but to remain closed for the January 2021 Dallas Market. This was a very difficult decision for us to make as our

Dallas Market Center shifts January’s Lightovation to March

Dallas Market Center announced that January’s edition of Lightovation, its twice annual residential lighting trade event, is moving from Jan. 7-10 to March 23-26.

The summer edition of Lightovation will take place in its original June 23-26 spot. Additionally, the January 6-12 Total Home & Gift Market and other previously scheduled January trade events at Dallas Market Center will continue.

The March edition of Lightovation will take place together with the spring edition of Total Home & Gift Market to allow for full exploration of DMC’s campus and buying opportunities in home décor and other categories.

“This decision was not an easy one but the right one for lighting retailers located across North America, Canada, Central America, and beyond,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “For eight months we have held successful events serving buyers, and we are confident in our ability to continue to stage safe and inspiring shows. However, by shifting to March we will better serve global customers able to travel more easily. We look forward to seeing everyone in person in the spring.”

The new Lightovation dates were determined after consultation with lighting exhibitors and evaluation of travel restrictions recently enacted in
